A NOTE ABOUT THE COATING

The metallic color you see on the case (ex: gold, silver, etc) is a coating. Underneath, the actual shell of the case is plastic. A coating will obviously not be completely impervious to chipping over time, so while it is somewhat counter-intuitive with a case, you do need to be somewhat aware and careful with it in order to keep it looking great for as long as possible. The coating is pretty strong (we actually had to hit it against the corner of a glass table pretty hard in order for us to get it to chip), but if you drop it hard enough, have it in your pocket/purse rubbing against keys, change, etc you are risking potential chipping. The case looks awesome, but the price you pay for that is having to be aware of this.
